Low Flyers Club
This is not about one particular '32 or one particular owner, and in factors of time not as early as others listed on this page. However, this club and their cars are an important and famous part of British Hot Rodding history..
The club started in the mid 80's building 32's (and other models) in the style of American 'jalopies' (a term used before they became known as hot rods)
The American jalopies were built to go racing on the dry lakes of California in the pre-war era.
A car that consisted of a stripped down bare body and chassis, no chrome, no shiney paint or a full interior, and home built on a budget. This was to be The Low Flyers inspiration.
Traditional/nostalgia hot rods have gone on to become a popular style all over the world. While many have credited America hot rodders with re-introducing these types of cars it was The Low Flyers here in Britain who were ahead of game years before.
